I'm Simone! I received my associates degree with distinction from Bard College at Simon's Rock in 2025. I've since transferred to Hampshire College, where I am double majoring in choreographic dance studies and Spanish. All my life, I've dreamed of following in the footsteps of my father-a now-retired English professor-and taking on the role of an academic mentor. As a child, I remember feeling overjoyed whenever my father would allow me to help him grade his students papers. I would correct minor grammatical or spelling errors before passing the edited copies along to him to review. As simple as it was, I found the process highly rewarding.
At the beginning of my freshman year of high school, I joined a volunteer tutoring program that allowed me to connect with underserved K-5 students. I tutored a multitude of subjects, including math, reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. I designed these lessons to be fun and engaging, centered around individual academic goals and interests.
The most rewarding aspect of tutoring is being able to watch the student grow into a more confident, self-determined learner. Through my experience, I've seen those who have struggled the most in school eventually get ahead of their class. I aim to help each student discover and pursue their potential within and beyond the classroom. I'm just an email away and will always provide prompt responses. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
