Mathematics is more than just a series of equations; it is a fundamental language of logic. My approach to tutoring is built on the same principles of precision and analytical clarity that I utilized during my career as a corporate bankruptcy lawyer and later as a systems integrator. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Mathematics from Boston University, where I graduated magna cum laude, and a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, graduating cum laude. This combination of high-level quantitative training and professional advocacy allows me to help students bridge the gap between "doing the work" and truly understanding the underlying logic of math.

I am a certified Mathematics educator for grades 5 through 12, with over a decade of experience helping students navigate everything from foundational Algebra and Geometry to the rigors of Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Having worked as a peer tutor as early as high school and continuing through my professional life, I have taught students of all ages and skill levels. I specialize in identifying the specific "logic leak" or conceptual hurdle that is holding a student back. My goal is to ensure that students don't just memorize formulas, but instead develop the critical thinking skills necessary to solve complex problems independently.

In our first session, we will focus on establishing a clear roadmap for your success. I begin by assessing your current comfort level with the subject matter and identifying any gaps in foundational knowledge. Whether you are struggling to keep up with a fast-paced classroom or looking to master advanced concepts for college preparation, I tailor my explanations to match your specific learning style. I am a firm believer in the power of patience and clear communication. By breaking down intimidating topics into manageable, logical steps, I help my students build the confidence they need to excel academically. I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have a license in Massachusetts, and a five on the AP, and a minor in math on my BA.
Geometry

Geometry

I hold an official Massachusetts Academic License in Mathematics for grades 8-12, which certifies my expertise in the high school Geometry curriculum. My approach to Geometry shifts the focus from rote memorization of theorems to developing a strong sense of spatial reasoning and logical proof. I find that many students struggle with Geometry because it feels like a different language than Algebra; therefore, I encourage my students to "talk about the math" as much as they do it. By verbalizing the logic behind a geometric proof or a coordinate transformation, students build the confidence to anticipate more advanced concepts. Whether we are working on Euclidean proofs, trigonometry, or coordinate geometry, I adapt my teaching to the specific way each student learns to ensure they find the "common sense" in every problem.
Legal Writing
