After seven years of teaching, I still strive to conquer the challenge of individualizing education to help each student achieve and master skills necessary for their academic and life success. Through my Undergraduate coursework focused on English and Theater and my Graduate coursework, I have developed resources that are various and can be matched to the level of the student's skill to facilitate a scaffolded learning system that builds and progresses the student in an appropriate pace and style that fits their needs.
Tutoring approaches will center around a student's needs and strengths as well as learning style. I have many manipulatives and various strategy books to assist me in determining which activities are best. As a public school ELA teacher, I also have access to numerous literature resources, SAT and MCAS Practice materials, as well as two different Grammar programs: Daily Grammar Practice and Giggly Grammar. All of my resources and materials are Common Core Aligned and meet and exceed state standards. Both conventional face to face tutoring as well as tutoring via technology are possible for me.
