I am passionate about helping students succeed. As a top tutor for Wyzant, I help with College Counseling (including personal statement brainstorming and application help). I provide support on college and grad school applications (including law school and med school statements), helping students formulate and craft their essays, draft their supplemental questions and create their activity lists and resumes.

I provide support on college and grad school applications (including law school and med school statements), helping students formulate and craft their essays, draft their supplemental questions and create their activity lists and resumes.

I have worked with students of all ages - I have worked with students applying to prep school, students looking for academic help in English and/or History, juniors and seniors in high school, and college students who are applying to grad school (GRE and personal statement help). I also work quite often with students who have been granted extra time on their standardized tests. I also work with students on perfecting their resumes and their cover letters as they begin their career search.

I was an English major at Yale and loved to write. After three years in finance, I chose to return to school and received an MBA from Columbia. I worked in the corporate world in marketing/finance and then as an entrepreneur, where I did quite a bit of business writing. I have been working as a tutor for over ten years and recently moved out of state so I am now building my business through online tutoring.

I have worked with over 100 students on college counseling-students who have sought careers in engineering, those who wanted to go into business and those who needed extra time on their tests. They have all been accepted to their choice of schools. Junior year in high school should be about exploration, not a time of stress. I work hard to build confidence in my students and make them feel comfortable.

I help students learn grammar rules, test taking strategies and time management for the ACT English portion of the test. I have had great success with my students. Their scores usually increase significantly (5-10 points) after working with me.

I have almost a decade of tutoring experience on the ACT test. My students' reading scores generally increase 5-7 points after working with me. I teach reading strategy and work with each student to ensure that they utilize the best strategy for them so that they can succeed.

I have helped students increase their ACT scores substantially by working with them on timing and understanding the different types of science passages. My students have increased their scores substantially (sometimes 10 points!) on the Science portion of the ACT.

As a senior marketing director at a number of financial services companies, I had the opportunity to hire many candidates. I am familiar with what hiring managers are looking for. As I moved out of the corporate world and into academia, I have been lucky enough translate that knowledge to my current career. I work with students to help them complete their resumes for the Common App as well as help them write cover letters for each job. I have coached numerous students during the early stages of their job search and work with them on their interview skills. In addition, as circumstances change, I work with adults and students alike on assessing their interests and provide some insight into what could be their next career move. I focus on making sure that their resume reflects their interests and that they are ready for the next step in their careers.

I help students with their essays, their resumes, and their college, transfer, and grad school applications. I have worked with students on their med school and law school applications as well. As a college counselor, I help students navigate their college choices. I work closely with them to understand their interests and work with them to match colleges that suit those interests. I walk students and parents through the application process, helping students craft their college essays and supplements, as well as ensuring that they are completing the common app thoroughly and accurately. My students have had great success with full scholarships to St. Lawrence, ED to Cornell, ED to Yale, first choice acceptances to Pitt, Marist, Fordham, NYU, University of Michigan, Wellesley College, Princeton, BU, and many others.
