I am a licensed 5-12 English teacher, currently teaching special education students at the 6th and 7th grade levels in the western Massachusetts area. I am experienced in designing subject lessons, which are geared towards the individual needs and capabilities of the students under my direct supervision. As I am a special education teacher, I excel in creating close and meaningful bonds with my students, and fostering a helpful learning environment for them. I have also attended weekly Professional Development sessions with my current employer, which I believe have helped to cross-train me in multiple areas of educational support.
My favorite aspect of teaching is connecting with my students, and providing them with positive life experiences. I hope to make a valuable contribution to my community, and wish to continue doing so during summer breaks, and after school hours. I know these are quite uncertain times and many students have fallen behind in the past school year. I wish to use my strengths of connecting with students to help bridge the gap and keep their learning capabilities on par for what the future may hold.
I have a personal love for literature, and have a wide array of knowledge when it comes to middle school grade level texts, and learning targets. With my knowledge of Massachusetts state ELA standards and MCAS testing insight, I believe I can help adequately prepare students for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year.
I look forward to meeting potential students, and providing them the help and assistance they need in these uncertain times!
