I bring both academic training and direct clinical experience to tutoring in anatomy, physiology, nursing, pharmacology, and psychology. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a 3.6 GPA, double majoring in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, then completed a post-baccalaureate program at the University of New England with a 3.85 GPA, focusing on Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. This gives me a strong foundation in the science underlying EMS and health-related coursework and exams.

I am a nationally registered EMT (NREMT) with an EMT-Basic certification in Massachusetts, current BLS/CPR and EVOC certifications, and three years of full-time EMT experience. For the past two years I have served as a Field Training Officer, directly responsible for training and evaluating new EMTs in live clinical settings. I have personally trained twenty EMTs one-on-one, ages eighteen to thirty-five, including high school students, college students, retired Army combat medics, and former rescue unit members. My trainees have gone on to medical school, PA school, nursing school, fire departments, critical care, and paramedic school. I am new to tutoring in a formal sense, but I have extensive experience adapting complex material to different learning styles and translating clinical knowledge into something usable under pressure.

My tutoring is best suited for high school students exploring a career in EMS who want an honest introduction to the field, current EMT students struggling with coursework, EMT students who finished their course and are preparing for licensure, and recently licensed EMTs who want a clearer picture of what working in the field actually involves. I am also glad to support high school level tutoring in anatomy, physiology, nursing-related topics, pharmacology, and psychology.

I studied biology at UMass Amherst and later completed Anatomy and Physiology I and II through a post-baccalaureate program at the University of New England, earning a 3.85 GPA. As a nationally registered EMT and Field Training Officer, I apply anatomical knowledge daily in the field, from rapid trauma assessments to explaining physiological changes to patients and trainees in real time. Over the past two years I've taught new EMTs how to move from textbook anatomy to fast, accurate clinical reasoning under pressure. My approach connects structure to function, so the material actually makes sense, rather than becoming something you just memorize and forget after the exam.

For a year and a half, I worked as a medical technician responsible for medication administration, handling insulin, pain medications, narcotics, blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and more on a daily basis. Combined with my post-baccalaureate coursework in Biochemistry and my clinical experience as a nationally registered EMT, I understand pharmacology from both the science and the real-world administration side, not just theory. As a Field Training Officer, I've also taught new EMTs how to recognize medication effects, side effects, and interactions in real patients under time pressure. I can help connect drug classifications and mechanisms to what's actually happening when a medication is administered, which is often the hardest part to learn from a textbook alone.

I completed Human Physiology I and II as part of a post-baccalaureate program at the University of New England, earning a 3.85 GPA, building on a biology degree from UMass Amherst. As a nationally registered EMT with three years of full-time clinical experience, I apply physiology constantly in the field, recognizing how the body responds to trauma, shock, respiratory distress, and cardiac events in real time. As a Field Training Officer, I've spent the past two years teaching new EMTs to connect physiological mechanisms to what they're actually seeing in a patient, rather than treating it as abstract textbook material. My goal is to help you understand why the body does what it does, not just memorize the steps, since that's what actually makes the material hold up under exam pressure.

I double-majored in Psychology and Biology at UMass Amherst, with a minor in Philosophy, giving me a strong academic foundation in how people think, behave, and respond under stress. As a nationally registered EMT with three years of full-time experience, I regularly work directly with patients in psychiatric crises, using de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches in real time, not just as theory. As a Field Training Officer, I've taught new EMTs how to read a patient's emotional state and adjust their approach on the spot, which draws heavily on applied psychological principles.
