Hi! I’m Merrick, a recent graduate from Amherst College, where I graduated summa cum laude in English and Russian. As AI-generated writing grows prevalent, developing reading and writing as skills, for all grade levels, are becoming even more important. I help students understand the mechanics of good writing, but more importantly, I help them process their thoughts into compelling essays or well-argued papers. In college, I worked as a Peer Research Assistant, where I provided a low-stress atmosphere for students to ask questions about research methods. I’ll bring the same energy to our tutoring sessions. I provide a space where students feel comfortable to ask any questions while providing rigorous instruction and constructive feedback on writing and critical analysis. In our sessions, we can work on polishing up existing papers for college admissions, analyze practice essays for entrance exams, or research and complete an entire essay for class.
