Hello! I've taught AP World History for four years and I have a master's from Yale. I've scored AP exams as an AP reader and mentored 21 students to 4 or 5s on the AP World exam. In all, I have eight years teaching experience, including three summers teaching at Yale Young Global Scholars and two years as an instructional coach to other teachers teaching AP Human Geo, APUSH, and AP GoPo. I love the big questions of history and the nitty gritty details of test prep.

In all, I have eight years teaching experience, including three summers teaching at Yale Young Global Scholars and two years as an instructional coach to other teachers teaching AP Human Geo, APUSH, and AP GoPo. There's three things you need to succeed on an AP History exam -- content knowledge, historical reasoning ability, and what I call confident curiosity. In other words, you need to a) thoroughly understand the basic who/what/where information of history, and b) have the critical thinking chops to assess things like the trustworthiness of a source and c) you need to actually enjoy history and believe in your capacity to make sense of it.
I aim to foster all three qualities in my tutoring sessions. This means I give students tailored resources to help them learn content and review key historical thinking skills through core DBQ skills.
