Because of my formal linguistics training, I can easily walk you through beginner concepts such as x-bar theory, or IPA, as well as help you get better test scores studying advanced ideas such as optimality theory or lambda theory. Language and linguistics is a wild and exciting new field, so let's dive in together!
I also simply love teaching English, and I am very comfortable in multicultural settings, as I have experience in helping many colleagues and fellow students learn English privately, and I have formal training in both the structure of English as a second language and methods of teaching English as a second language. I hold a TESOL certificate in the field, and I believe that my background in English literature as well as the scientific study of linguistics aids my ability to teach students of all backgrounds and competency levels to reach their long-term potential as English speakers. The majority of my experience has been face-to-face teaching, but I also have experience with digital learning, and have no problem entering an entirely online teaching environment. I have eyes on long term results, and I believe that, while learning any language is an intimate and lifelong process, every learner’s journey must start and be maintained with the right instruction.
