HI. I am a former Senior Software Engineer that still loves to help people understand the computer better. Though I do not have any former experience tutoring I am always helping friends, coworkers, and even strangers fix, understand, and learn about the computer. I have a very good knack at finding ways to help others understand. I am very down to Earth, so I can speak in plain language that is easy to understand even for technical subjects. Because I this, I can make learning easy and fun!
I started programming computers when I was 14 at the time when the first DOS based PC's came out. I went to the University of Rhode Island in the 90's where I studied Computer Science and Math. Shortly after, I had a career as a programmer. After 5 years I decided that I am more of a people person and didn't want to sit at the computer for the rest of my life. However, I still have a passion for it and would love to help anyone who is trying to learn.
I have many years of experience writing programs using various languages. My most proficient are C++, Java, HTML, and Javascript. However, I have also used Visual Basic, PERL, JSP and others. I have a unique knack at understanding all things on the computer, so even if something was new I could still help.
I am very friendly and down to Earth, so if you could contact me after the tutoring session (free of charge of course) if you get stuck on something. Also, if you have to cancel last minute that would be okay.
