Hello, I'm Renée! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Community Health from Tufts University and graduated with honors, achieving summa cum laude. During my time at Tufts, I discovered the profound impact an engaged professor has on students, inspiring me to bring this approach to my tutoring.

I have a background in tutoring English, Math, and Anatomy and Physiology at the middle school and high school level, as well as additional experience working with children of all ages as a camp counselor and nanny. Additionally, I completed the MCAT in April, scoring in the 90th percentile, so I have recent experience with intensely studying Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, and Reading Comprehension.

My teaching method starts with the student, as the most important part of tutoring in my opinion is getting the student involved and excited about the topic. We will come up with a tutoring plan together, using my personal study tools as well as recommendations from the student’s teacher that are specific to the course. It is important to me to go over the material to make sure there are no gaps in understanding, before reviewing fun acronyms and memory tools to solidify learning. In my personal experience, one essential aspect of tutoring is that it creates additional accountability, so I allow time ample time for practice and review. I understand that each student is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet individual needs.
