I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from San José State University with a 3.9 GPA in Business Finance, where I was also a Business Honors student, a President's Scholar, and a Division I golfer on the women's golf team. This fall I'm headed to Boston College's Carroll School of Management on a golf scholarship to pursue my Master of Science in Finance. Balancing a full academic honors track with six days a week of D1 athletic training taught me, out of necessity, how to break big, intimidating subjects down into manageable pieces and actually retain them under real time pressure. That's the same approach I bring to tutoring.

My background is deeply rooted in finance and applied math. I interned in financial accounting at Provident Credit Union, where I built financial performance and investment strategy models that I presented directly to the CEO and CFO, and I've since worked on real estate financial modeling, building Excel models to evaluate investment and capital structure decisions. That hands-on, numbers-in-practice experience means I don't just know the formulas, I know how and why they're used in the real world, which I find makes abstract finance and math concepts click for students much faster.

I haven't held a formal paid tutoring title yet, but teaching is something I've done instinctively my whole life. As the older sister in my family, I've spent years explaining schoolwork in ways that actually land, and as a college athlete I regularly helped teammates work through math and finance coursework around our travel and practice schedules, since I understood firsthand what it's like to learn under pressure and limited time. I'm patient, practical, and genuinely energized by watching a concept go from confusing to obvious. Whether it's algebra, calculus, financial accounting, business fundamentals, or SAT/ACT math prep, I focus on building real understanding and confidence, not just getting through the next assignment.
