Bio

Holder of two degrees in mathematics from Northeastern university, one in a B.S. in Econ and Math, and the other an M.S. in Applied Math.

I've been a mathematics tutor for the past eight years or so, but have recently been more involved with Excel in my day-to-day, and want to share that with you!

In recent years, I've mainly taught and worked with college students and other young adults in their early working years. Whenever I'm tutoring somebody, or just showing someone something they may have never learned before or forgot over time, is quickly assessing where they are through drill-down questions, going through what they know and what their objectives are, laying the path for them to get from start to finish, and then showing them additional applications for what we learned could be applied to.

I have almost 10 years of experience using and recalibrating a number of Excel formulas from SUMS to SUMIFS, COUNTIFs, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, INDEX + MATCH, AVERAGEs, and so on for various business and academic use cases. I also have significant experience using and altering PivotTables, table objects, VBA/Macros, and importing and altering data through the Power Query Editor to optimize my work and to make it more efficient. If it’s anything related to Excel, I feel like I have more than the typical knowledge base of Excel tools other people possess, and can quickly diagnose and problem-solve for a solution to any question and explain step-by-step how I got from point A to point B.

I have a Masters in Applied Mathematics, a Bachelors in Econ and Math, and scored a 3 and then a 4 on the AP Stats exam in high school (I took it twice). While it’s been a while, I am still very familiar with a lot of the basic stat formulas from your introductory statistics course (average, mean, median, standard deviation) metrics to regression on two variables to calculate r, R^2, b, and so on. I also am still very familiar with probability (binomial and geometric models) along with inferential statistics (null and alternative hypotheses, P-values, and confidence intervals).

- I am a Salesforce certified Tableau Desktop Specialist - I have built a number of dashboards from a variety of different data sources using Tableau and also use Power BI on a daily basis. - Have built a number of KPI reports for senior leadership in my career that helps track financial and sales data.
