I am a graduate of Boston Latin School, Harvard College, and Boston College Law School. I have always had an interest in English and in foreign languages and have received very good training in those subjects. The tutorial system at Harvard gave me the experience of meeting each week with a tutor to discuss the subject matter of my field of concentration and to discuss any ongoing writing projects. Also, while an undergraduate, I met with some high-school students to tutor them in Latin.

In law school I had the experience of being an article editor of the Boston College Law Review. It was an intense experience involving writing, having my writing being edited by others, as well as proofreading and editing the work of others. Also as a lawyer I have edited the work of colleagues and have my work edited by them.

I have fifteen years of experience in the online teaching of adult students in the subjects of business law and criminal court systems, and I have enjoyed helping them to improve their writing skills. I have graded thousands of papers and provided students with coaching not only to improve their knowledge of the subject matter but also their ability to write and organize a paper effectively. The students were from a variety of educational backgrounds and had quite a range of proficiency in writing English.

I have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, and my study of Latin, French, and Spanish has added to my knowledge and understanding of grammar in general.

Each student is different. In working with a student I always focus on the individual student’s wishes and needs.
