I am a doctor with fifteen years of professional tutoring experience.

I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and double minors in French and Poverty Studies at Washington and Lee University in Virginia in May 2015. I completed my medical degree with honors at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2022. In June 2025, I completed my internal medicine residency training program at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, a Harvard program. I am now a board certified...

I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and double minors in French and Poverty Studies at Washington and Lee University in Virginia in May 2015. I completed my medical degree with honors at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2022. In June 2025, I completed my internal medicine residency training program at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, a Harvard program. I am now a board certified physician doing a general internal medicine research fellowship in Boston, but I still love tutoring to get out of the hospital and be inspired by learners.

I have helped over 75 students raise their SAT scores an average of 200-400 points by reviewing test content, teaching test-taking strategies, and identifying strengths and weaknesses to create unique study plans for each student. While I tutor in multiple areas, I find SAT tutoring particularly rewarding because it is such an important part of the high school to college transition, as is the college application.

I believe in working in close conjunction with students' families to identify, evaluate, and monitor skills needing improvement, and I develop custom lessons and practice tests to target these weaknesses. I have helped with both specific homework assignments as well as long-term learning goals; I love helping students not only catch up to their peers, but also acquire a passion for learning!

I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington and Lee University in May 2015. I both completed coursework in various biology topics, as well as peer tutored throughout my four years as a Biology major. During college, I was the Biology Chair of Women in Technology and Science. I designed and led fun and informational experiments for local middle school girls. For my senior project in high school, I taught Biology to elementary school students, and wrote a teaching guide for elementary-middle school aged students focusing on hands-on experiments and games to make science fun.

I have helped numerous students successfully navigate the college application process by helping them find schools that are a good fit, brainstorming strong essay ideas, and editing essays together so their personal statements are clear, effective, and show their true voice. I love helping students reach their dream schools!

I grew up taking ballet, and I fell in love with French language and culture from a young age. I have taken French classes for eight years (throughout high school and advanced college classes), and I graduated with a minor in French. I studied French literature and art history abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne for six months as well. If you are looking to learn basic French for traveling, are struggling in a current elementary to intermediate French class, or just want to learn a new language, I would love to help you learn this beautiful language.

I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington and Lee University in May 2015. My coursework for this degree included Genetics and an accompanying lab course, in both of which I received an A. I also researched in my Genetics professor's lab for a year and a half, completing my own project finding the gene structure of a spider glue protein. My time researching allowed me to learn modern genetics lab techniques, apply my genetics knowledge, and present my findings in poster symposiums.

I graduated Cum Laude in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington and Lee University; having attended a liberal arts school, I also excelled in many humanities classes. When tutoring for the PSAT, I focus on building test familiarity and confidence by teaching test taking strategies that will help your student improve his or her scores both on the PSAT and on the actual SAT.

I have tutored for seven years to prepare students for the SAT and in various levels and subjects of math. I graduated Cum Laude in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington and Lee University. Personally, I received a 2300 on my SAT in 2011. When tutoring for SAT Math, I have students work through actual test questions from past SATs. When students struggle with a particular question, we solve the problem together and then complete similar practice problems to ensure that they understand the underlying concepts of each problem type. Many students just complete blindly practice tests without going back to analyze WHY they keep getting geometry or algebra questions wrong; my methods focus on identifying students' strengths and weaknesses to effectively improve scores, as well as teaching test-taking strategies to use when they're stuck. SAT Student Score Improvements (this are just my three most recent students!): Student 1: Improved his math score from 480 to 630 Student 2: Increased his math score from 380 to 560 in just one month Student 3: Improved his score from 580 to 700

When tutoring students for the SAT Writing Section, I work with them to improve their essay score by practicing writing effective, well-organized essays under stress. I also teach them strategies to quickly recognize and fix errors in the multiple choice section, a task that many students feel intimidated by due to the lack of extensive grammar instruction in schools. While SAT writing is often the section that students are most worried about, my tutoring methods and exercises make learning grammar less daunting and more useful for improving SAT scores.

Good at building Rapport and Figuring out Key Areas to Work on

Stephanie asked lots of questions to get to know my son's strengths and problem areas. She asked about his strategies and comfort level with different sections so she could focus in on what he needs most. She had a clear style that put him at ease. I was very happy with this first session and thrilled we tried the online format.

Stephanie is a one-of-a-kind tutor. She evaluated how I was studying, taking exams, and processing my medical school content, and helped me organize it in a way that makes sense to my ADHD brain. I went from having major test-taking anxiety to having a strategy that is proactive and puts me in the driver's seat rather than being at the mercy of the test-writers' tricks. I also went from needing to work with a tutor every day to pass my exams to only needing a tutor a few times per week. Excellent tutor!

My daughter was hesitant to try an online tutor initially, but once she had her first SAT lesson with Stephanie, she was willing to continue for more sessions. I am not always available to listen in on these lessons due to work but Stephanie provides me a thorough recap after each lesson which enables me to follow my daughter's progress. Stephanie is very thorough, patient, energetic and well prepared. She provides a lesson plan before every session which helps set the expectations on what will be covered. I highly recommend her as a tutor. In fact, I have already referred her to two other students who are currently using her for SAT prep.
