In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I completed and received an 'A' in a course in Differential Equation while at MIT (Cambridge, MA). I also taught a course in Differential Equation at Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ).

I have an extensive background in probability and combinatorics. I taught an applied math course which included probability and graph theory at Rutgers University. I was a grader for a discrete math course which included the topics of logic, probability, and graph theory at Boston University.

I have tutored linear algebra and received an A in a course at MIT. I have helped students to better understand systems of linear equations, determinants, eigenvectors and eigenvalues, diagonalization, and vector spaces among other topics.

I performed well in my physics courses as an MIT student. I have tutored students in classic mechanics, electricity, and magnetism. I can offer help in both non-Calculus and Calculus based courses. My emphasis is on using physics principles to set up problems so that the remaining math becomes straightforward.

A full Precalculus contains a great deal of material and is often a daunting task for the student. I have taught at the University level as the professor for Precalculus. I take the topics in Algebra, Exponentials, Logarithms, Trigonometry, and make them easier to understand. Once my students begin to understand the material, positive results usually follow.

I have taught math for an SAT prep company. I teach the necessary concepts in order to obtain the answers and also how to use more efficient and quicker methods. SAT preparation requires lots of practice and I offer a study schedule based on the amount of time which remains until the exam and my assessment of the student's level. Increased scores should follow.

I have taught a course involving statistics and concentrated in several stats courses at the PhD level. Statistics offers many new concepts which, depending how it's taught, can be overwhelming at times. I have experience taking topics in statistics which students find challenging or intimidating and placing them in an easier to understand context.
