Hi there! I'm Katelyn, a graduated Comet from the University of Texas at Dallas who's now a graduate student at Boston University. I love sharing about city life, personal finance, and the beauty of pondering life. Asides from customer service and leadership roles in student clubs, I also have some teaching experience under my belt such as teaching elementary students piano lessons for a year and co-teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) this spring. These lessons were taught in a one on one and classroom setting, respectively and both have brought tremendous joy seeing students share their interests, thoughts, and drive to learn more! I want to make sure students have the reins most of the time, so I ask open-ended questions and create visual activities they can interact with. Scheduling lessons and outlining post-class homework with parents makes sure that there is transparency and stronger involvement. I believe with the right guidance and a good mindset, anyone can be a better version of themselves and create their own success.

I am a certified pharmacy technician who passed the PTCB on my first attempt with a scaled score of 1533, demonstrating strong mastery of core pharmacology principles. I have nearly two years of hands‑on experience working as a pharmacy technician in a high‑volume retail setting, where I regularly applied dosage calculations and drug‑class knowledge. I also created and shared a comprehensive study guide for new technicians, helping coworkers strengthen their familiarity with drug names and pharmacy law. My background allows me to break down complex medication concepts into clear, practical explanations tailored to each learner’s needs.

Reading

During the pandemic, I made auditory recordings for the blind community of California. I learn best when I read things out loud and it's fun to make stories out of complex or simple concepts! Storytime is wholesome and a fun way to use funny voices and bring characters to life.
