Hi I'm Dilags! I received a B.S. in Biology from UCLA as well as Master's of Medical Science in Immunology from Harvard Medical School.
I have been a tutor since high school; I started tutoring at my high school's peer tutoring club and when I started UCLA I continued tutoring as a Learning Assistant before eventually becoming one of the first undergraduate TA's at UCLA for Mathematics for Life Scientists due to my successful teaching skills and mastery of the material. I have several years of experience and have worked with over 100 students ranging from high school students, undergrads, Masters students and MDs. My most recent experience is teaching immunology concepts and lab techniques to high school and Master students.
My experiences in tutoring vary from one-on-one tutoring to a classroom setting. My approach with my students is to create a safe learning environment in which they can grow their knowledge and make mistakes; after working with over 100 students and receiving multiple high evaluation reports (with 98% student satisfaction rates), I am more than confident that I can help you achieve mastery of the material. Outside of our sessions, I continually do research for my students and I seek resources and additional educational materials that may be of use for them. My mentality is that if you are investing time and money into these sessions, I will commit to you both in and out of the classroom because ultimately, I want to see you achieve your goals.
Outside of the classroom, I want to be a useful resource to you and I always lend a helpful ear and advice to my students whenever is needed.
If any of the above clicks with you, please send me a message! I would love to chat with you and help you grow :)
