My name is Nabil, I lived in the Middle East before moving to the United States in 2017 to pursue an undergraduate degree at Boston College (BC). During my college years, I tutored 50+ students in various subjects, including Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science (CS), French, and Arabic. I graduated from BC with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in CS. I used my acquired knowledge to work at a biotech company as an associate bioinformatician, where I perfected my computational skills and expanded my knowledge in genetics and microbiology. Currently, I am a Medical Student at Tufts University and a part-time tutor.
I believe that teaching needs to be adaptable to every student's needs. Fortunately, during my years of tutoring, I learned different methods and strategies to explain concepts to my tutees. As your tutor, your understanding is my main priority; I will continuously try to find new strategies to facilitate your learning.
I graduated from Boston College with a 3.8 overall GPA and B.S. in Biology and scored in the 93rd percentile on the MCAT. I took pre-medical classes which include Chemistry, biology, physics, biochemistry and math. During my gap year, I worked at a biotech company where I created scripts that processed genetic data on a daily basis.
I am fluent in both Arabic and French. I attended schools that followed the French Curriculum from kindergarten to 12th grade. I passed the French Baccalauréat avec mention très bien (with high honors).
I grew up in Syria and Lebanon where we speak Levantine Arabic. I've taken formal Arabic classes at school for over 12 years and I read and write modern standard Arabic.
I graduated with a 3.95 computer science minor GPA from Boston College. I previously tutored python classes and I worked with python on a daily basis at my job as a bioinformatician.
