Hi! My name is Carol, and I am an undergraduate student at Boston College studying psychology and neuroscience on the premed track. I graduated high school in June 2024 from Dover-Sherborn High School in Massachusetts. As a junior and senior in high school, I volunteered as a National Honors Society tutor for chemistry, where I tutored other high school students. In addition, I have also tutored Chinese one-on-one, for which I focused on having conversations with the students and reading together.
I'm also confident in tutoring for the SATs, as I self-prepared for the exam and did relatively well, with 1560 on my second test. I believe that the best way to perform well on the SATs is to practice continuously without burning out. For me, this meant very short practices daily in the months before the exam, with full practices spaced out occasionally. To make the practice most worthwhile, it's important to analyze the questions a student missed, and even those they got correct but were uncertain about. We can then discuss the thought process and find ways to become more confident in these questions.
