I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Educational Psychology. I have completed all coursework and am completing an internship to complete my specialist degree and national certification as a School Psychologist. I have spent the past three and a half years working in Massachusetts public schools as a paraprofessional and the past year as a psychology practicum student.
Not only do I have extensive classroom experience in grades K-8, I have administered academic interventions, cognitive assessments, and have consulted extensively with other school-based professionals as part of a MTSS model. I have a deep understanding of how humans learns, and specifically how humans learn best.
I have worked with GenEd and honors students, as well as with students with significant disabilities (e.g., Intellectual Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, conduct/behavioral issues, mental health disorders, and more). In addition to these qualifications, I have strengths in people skills and making each student feel seen and heard.
I have an understanding of how to individualize tutoring approaches to a student's unique needs and pace, while providing scaffolding to get students to the next "level". I am particularly comfortable with SAT prep, as well as tutoring biology, chemistry, and algebra.
