Hi! I'm Antonia, a practicing medical physicist in Radiation Oncology and faculty at Harvard Medical School. I currently work at Brigham and Women's Hospital and completed my PhD in Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

I have over 13 years of tutoring experience working with students ages 5 through 40+. I specialize in mathematics and physics at all levels, and I have supported students who need foundational skill-building as well as high-achieving students preparing for advanced coursework and competitive exams.

As a PhD-trained physicist and published researcher, I understand math and physics at a deep conceptual level and apply them daily in a clinical hospital setting. In addition to tutoring, I have led board preparation sessions, mentored undergraduate STEM students, developed coursework, and taught in both academic and professional environments. My recognitions include being named a Young Investigators Finalist at the AAPM Spring Clinical Meeting, receiving the Wisconsin Science and Medicine Graduate Research Fellowship, the Glen F. Knoll Scholarship, and a Best Paper award at the ANS Student Conference.

My teaching philosophy focuses on building true understanding rather than memorization. I break complex problems into manageable steps, teach repeatable problem-solving strategies, and adapt to each student's individual learning style. My goal is to build both confidence and independence so students feel capable tackling new material on their own.

Fitness

I am a Crossfit L2 Trainer certified with 10 years coaching experience. I also taught Barre for over 3 years and have served on the national board for CHAARG LLC, a health and fitness organization for females. I am passionate about fitness being fun. As a medical physicist by day, I also have a solid foundational understanding of anatomy and physiology that helps me tailor programming to any injuries or life scenarios (ie pregnancy, longevity, etc).
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I conduct interviews routinely and have taken training on standardized interview techniques. I am on the admissions board for the harvard medical physics residency as well as in several national committees for the AAPM. I routinely review fellowship personal statements and applications.
Nutrition

Nutrition

Nutrition is one of the foundational aspects of the crossfit methodology so my training included a comprehensive overview of how to meal plan. Additionally, since college (over 10 years) I have been creating weekly meal prep plans for myself and my husband that adhere to macro goals curated for our fitness goals. As someone with PCOS I also have curated experience with managing hormone levels through food. My specialty is finding ways to make healthy swaps to reduce sugar/fat and add protein to meals.

Tutor with extensive subject matter expertise and exceptional teaching abilities

Antonia taught a wonderful physics lesson to my granddaughter, Abby. It was terrific! Abby loved it! Antonia possesses a wealth of knowledge about the subject of physics. Moreover, she figured out how to present the lesson to Abby in a manner that fit Abby's learning style. As a result of Antonia's excellent teaching, Abby is back on track, understanding her physics class and doing very well on her quizzes and tests. Thank you, Antonia!
