Bio

Hi, I'm Paul! I am a matriculating medical school student at UMass Chan. In 2025, I graduated from Tufts with a dual Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences and Public Health (MS/MPH). I've been pursuing my dream of becoming a physician for quite some time now, and along the way, I've learned both how students typically struggle with new content AND how to overcome those barriers. I've worked with people in various kinds of environments, whether one-on-one, in small groups, or in the classroom —and I've loved every moment. Whether you're struggling with new material, need some study tips, or just looking to sharpen your skills before an exam, I am ready and excited to help you achieve your goals in a way tailored to your learning style.

When I was an undergraduate at NYU, I nearly failed a few of my courses. It was a wake-up call. If I wanted to achieve my dream of becoming a physician, I would need to change the way I study, learn, and understand. Through a deep study of learning styles, study skills, and many late nights, I increased my GPA from a 2.9 to a 3.9. I've shared my study skills and my learning process with both my peers and younger students, and now I'm looking to give back to a greater community.

In terms of course subjects, I have had success in both basic and advanced sciences (including biochemistry, anatomy, and organic chemistry), mathematics (up to Calculus II), intro computer programming, writing/grammar, and software like STATA and R. I've worked in the classrooms ranging between elementary to high school, and provided individual tutoring to undergraduate and graduate level students. I take a personalized approach to learning and like to integrate the way YOU think into the way you develop your understanding of material.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, I respond fairly quickly. Always feel free to reach out with resources, recommendations, questions, or just to say hi! I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals, whatever they are!

Approved Subjects

Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I have interviewed for several clinical positions and been admitted to several graduate degree programs, which have prepared me for both academic and professional interview settings. I have specific training for interview skills and psychology through my Master's of Public Health program, and understand what both admissions committees and employers are looking for in a candidate.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I completed an interdisciplinary degree in both narrative analysis and pre-medical studies, during which I took many literature and writing courses to develop clear and effectiveness communication skills. I have written many personal statements in preparation for my masters programs and medical school, and was told that it was my personal statement style and depth that made me an attractive applicant and a good fit for those programs. I have also taken professional writing courses with feedback as a part of my Public Health Masters. Additionally, I have served as an editor for NYU Gallatin's poetry and literature publication.
Physics

Physics

Pre-Med at NYU: Physics 1 and 2, with labs. Standardized Exams: Physics Component to the MCAT-- matriculating to Medical School this fall. Tutoring: Tutored for MCAT and high school students independently.
Robotics

Robotics

I have led teams in robotics competitions at all levels of the FIRST robotics competitions, including Lego League, Technical Competition, and Robotics Competition. Returning as a mentor for these teams in college, I expanded my knowledge base with a joint minor in Math and Computer Science, putting Python, R, and electronics wiring knowledge in my toolset. During the pandemic, I worked as an SME for a start-up that used computer vision and AI-assisted algorithms to develop a suite of tools for sports analysis and performance improvement.
