While I have dove deep into jazz and other contemporary genres, I grew up with a deep appreciation for loud guitars and will always find a home in loud music. While I have dove deep into jazz and other contemporary genres, I grew up with a deep appreciation for loud guitars and will always find a home in loud music. I played in many bands and attended School of Rock as middle schooler and with my dad’s SM58 and GarageBand on my family’s iPad I would begin to record myself. While attending high school in the Baltimore/Annapolis MD area, I was both engrossing myself in Jazz and contemporary music and began researching how to record at home. As I prepared to audition for colleges I also taught elementary and middle school aged students beginner-intermediate guitar and drums. I even lead group ensemble rehearsals at the Priddy Music Academy and my local School of Rock. Between teaching, band practices, and performances, I obsessed over advanced latin grooves and odd jazz forms. When I felt prepared enough to share my music I would make recordings of myself and post them online.
At the end of my senior year I was accepted to the Berklee College of Music, but Covid 19 struck and I was forced to take a gap year. During that year I got a job at Paul Reed Smith (PRS) guitars and worked as a body sander for a year which sparked my interest in building and repairing guitars. After my time at PRS I trucked up north to Boston where I lived during my college days after it was safe! My experience at Berklee opened up my gaze to the world of recording and producing music professionally. I’ve ran hundreds of recording sessions on everything from analog mixing consoles to purely digital softwares to a hybrid of both! This only reinforced my understanding and appreciation for the building blocks of music. Now that I have graduated, I’ve moved to Nashville where I’m eager to continue sharing my knowledge of the deep world of music I've explored thus far. As I continuing my music career, I lead my students as we continue to sift through the never-ending wealth of music in the world. I'm happy to share all I know regarding music production, drums, guitar, learning by ear, and beyond!
