Hi there! My name is Alexandra (also known as Ali) and I currently work in social equity consulting. I have a BA from Brandeis University in Anthropology and a minor in Psychology, so I have a passion for the social sciences and writing. I also have a Masters of Public Policy (MPP) from Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management, which is a top ten program in the United States. I focused on Racial and Economic Equity during my time at Heller and learned about the inequities students were facing in learning, especially during COVID-19.
I have experience working with neuro-divergent students (I was one myself!) and taught students with Down's Syndrome for ~8 years. I also taught undergraduate students during my time at Brandeis about their rights on campus, how to navigate the job market after college, and what to consider when choosing a major. My methods include putting empathy first: children have had unprecedented experiences in learning institutions during the pandemic, and having empathy is important to curate a personalized, effective way of learning.
Lastly, the ages of students I have taught range from 10 years old to college students. I have taught in a classroom setting, one on one, and through volunteer experiences. Most recently, I have taught college students about policy in a hybrid mixture: biweekly in person and weekly on Zoom. My experiences include: anthropology, social and public policy, writing, proofreading, and learning coping skills to help with focus and school-related anxiety.
