Simran is an MD/PhD student at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. She attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, on a fully-funded merit scholarship, where she majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and graduated with honors, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Simran is an outspoken advocate for the value of a liberal arts education in creating well-rounded physicians and scientists. Upon graduation, she received her college’s Senior Woman of the Year award for her contributions to student life, as well as mentoring dozens of students from underrepresented backgrounds. She is now pursuing a combined MD/PhD in the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) MD program and Immunology PhD program.
Simran has been tutoring since high school, working with students of all ages and learning styles. Her core strengths include MCAT test prep, biology, and biochemistry. Simran enjoys utilizing practice problems and visual aids such as animations and diagrams in her tutoring sessions. In addition, she has helped many students craft application narratives as they applied to MD and MD/PhD programs. She is especially passionate about working with students from liberal arts colleges or underrepresented backgrounds.
I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and love teaching these subjects. I also have extensive research experience in these fields and enjoy incorporating novel research and laboratory methods into tutoring.
I love helping students set and achieve their MCAT score goals in order to maximize their chances of getting into medical school.
