I am a professor at a small college with 14 years of experience teaching undergraduate Biology. I have a PhD from Yale University in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. I have been passionate about biology from a young age and really got hooked on the field in high school when I took AP Biology. I got my first taste of teaching as a teaching assistant in undergrad laboratories and then served as a teaching assistant in lecture and lab classes in graduate school. As a college professor, I teach introductory biology, which encompasses everything starting from molecules going up to macromolecules (like DNA!). We also cover cell structures, respiration, photosynthesis, molecular biology (DNA replication, transcription, and translation), and genetics. I also teach the introductory sequences that covers ecology, evolution and organismal biology.
I have a range of experiences teaching in all different settings. I frequently work with students in small groups and one-on-one during help sessions and office hours. I can help high school students better understand any concept or subject in biology and help them get ready for exams, like the AP Biology exam.
