Medical Student with Tutoring Experience in Multiple Fields

Hi, my name is Sandya! I'm a fourth year medical student with a lot of tutoring experience: I have volunteered for and run a tutoring club at my local library and tutored privately. I love learning, and I want to inspire that same love in other students. I like to make tutoring as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved. I can tailor learning based on specific subjects and student ability, and I ensure students are able to practice topics as much as possible.

I passed Step 1 and Step 2 on my first try, received a score in the 95th percentile in the MCAT, and I received a perfect score on my ACT and various APs and subject SATs. I try to help students understand math in a comprehensive way that helps set them up for a strong future in higher level math classes. I have worked closely with students from grades 2 to 12, which allows me to communicate effectively with students of many ages. I also have a strong passion for English and science. I have won many awards for my writing, and I hope to inspire the same love of language in my students. I also helped students In various test preparations, such as MCAT, SAT, and ACT.

I always focus my tutoring approach on application and problem solving. I want my students to truly understand the topics, and I make sure to help them understand how crucial everything they learn is to the real world. I make sure they have plenty of problems to solve in order to ensure they have learned and understood the material. I strive to get to know my students and identify their problem areas to implement strategies that increase their confidence in their own abilities and help them become independent learners.
