A Songwriter with a Passion for English and Music

I'm a songwriter and guitar player with a love for music, the written language and how the two intersect. As a guitar player, I'm self-taught with over 20 years of experience. As a vocalist, I'm classically trained. My Boston-based band has, for nearly a decade, headlined major shows at top venues in the Boston area and throughout New England.

Additionally, I have over 5 years of experience tutoring writing, including ESL tutoring. As a public speaker, I've given numerous lectures for university classrooms and at conferences mostly centered on the topic of Drugs and Society, another area of expertise. In my capacity as a research administrator at Northeastern University's Center for Drug Discovery (where I've worked for a decade) I use professional writing everyday, contributing to grant applications and conversing with my diverse colleagues.

As a songwriter, guitarist, and lead vocalist I understand the many aspects of being a compelling performer. I taught myself guitar, and only later took lessons from a professional teacher. This has given me a unique holistic perspective on guitar playing which has been aided by the theory and instruction I later acquired. I regard music as a spiritual art, one that has the capacity to stir us in ways nothing else can.

My goal is to help you feel more comfortable and confident with writing, playing guitar, performing live or public speaking. I believe success begins in the mind first, after we choose it. Only after we choose it does the real work start. I look forward to meeting you and discovering how we, together, can begin on the path to success.
