I bring a full-spectrum perspective to healthcare education, having also trained and worked as a registered nurse and served as a voting member on a medical school admissions committee.
I have 10+ years of experience tutoring nursing students (Med-Surg, OB, Peds, Psych, Fundamentals, Dosage Calculations) and 3+ years tutoring medical students and USMLE Step exams. My teaching focuses on helping students truly understand the “why” through pathophysiology and core principles—leading to stronger scores, better retention, and real clinical confidence.
I also provide guidance on medical school and residency applications, including personal statements, interview preparation, and strategic positioning for competitive programs.
My approach is personalized, efficient, and high-yield. I don’t just help you study—I help you think. I would love to support you on your journey.

The best of the best

Tamar is one of most knowledgeable and proficient people that I have ever worked with. Not only did she dedicate her time to help me pass OB, but she spent extra time outside of tutoring, sending me resources and spending a little extra time, in order to help me succeed. When I first started with Tamar, I was on the verge of failing OB and possibly having to retake the class and add another semester to my college career. After my third exam I was given the option of either withdrawing from the class and to retake it or stick it out and hopefully get a 78% or better on the final exam to pass. Tamar gave me her reassurance that this was achievable and gave me the confidence to take a risk and stick with OB till the end. After many, many hours of working with Tamar I got a 81% on the final and passed OB. Without Tamar this would not of been achievable. Thank you Tamar for helping me overcome this milestone and I wish you the best at your residency!

Knowledge and patient

Tamar was very pleasant and took her time explaining things and actually boost my confidence up again I plan on having another session with her this week. She took her time going over different questions and giving me different ways to break questions down and to look out for certain words to help your process of elimination. I’m pleased with my session with her and look forward to working with her again.

Very knowledgeable and patient tutor

Tamar is a gem. She listens and answers all your questions. She also simplifies the questions and the answers so you can identify how to answer the questions. This is my first lesson with her and I already feel more confident in myself. She is highly recommended by me. Camilia

NCLEX Questions

Tamar has really helped me in selecting the right answer on my nursing exams. I am in my first semester of nursing school and as us nursing students know, nursing exams are different for any other exam. I have had a hard time in second guessing myself and choosing the wrong answer. She has gave me great examples on how not to second guess myself and how to eliminate answers just from how it is worded.

Very Knowledgeable. Listens and communicates well.

Tamar reviewed the basics. We reviewed some A&P, focusing on the functions of different organs, which helped me better understand what interventions are needed as oppose to just memorizing. Also, we were able to do some questions and she began to help me understand what and how to focus on choosing the correct answer. Tamar is very easy to communicate with and I felt she truly cares about helping me achieve my goal.
