Currently earning a living through a corporate job, Kate tutors on the side to practice two of her greatest interests: teaching and Spanish. She brings unique knowledge and experience to the individuals she works with. Here's why she could be a great fit for you or your child:
Experience: In 2010, Kate graduated magna cum laude with a minor in Spanish Language and Literature. Some of her more notable courses included: Business Spanish, Spanish Linguistics and Spanish-English comparative grammar. While in college, she participated in a summer study-abroad program in Segovia, Spain. Upon graduating, she applied and was accepted into a teach-English program run through the Spanish Government. Through this program, Kate taught both primary and secondary school students in Spain's public education system for two consecutive years. During this time, she also conducted private English lessons for individuals of all ages.
While her formal education strengthened her Spanish skills, it was minuscule in comparison to experiencing Spanish immersion. Having been placed to teach in village of 4,000 inhabitants, she quickly realized she had two choices: perfect her Spanish game, or have no social life. The two years she spent crossing cultural boundaries, meeting amazing people and learning Spanish are what really fuel her passion for the language. This passion is exhibited through her Spanish-tutoring endeavors.
