I am a bilingual educator and learning designer from Brazil, based in Boston, with more than 15 years of experience teaching English. I am a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese and fluent in English. I hold a Master of Education in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, as well as bachelor’s degrees in Education and in Portuguese and English Language and Literature Education. I have also served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, facilitating adult learning, evaluating student work, identifying skill gaps, and providing individualized feedback.
I have taught adult learners, including graduate students, professionals, managers, executives, engineers, and entrepreneurs. In Brazil, I taught up to 24 classes per week, trained teachers, led immersion programs, and helped support more than 1,000 learners. I later founded GoAnd Slay, an educational company focused on personalized English learning for professionals. My experience includes conversational English, TOEFL preparation, business communication, writing, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, presentations, interviews, meetings, and Brazilian Portuguese.
My tutoring is practical, personalized, and encouraging. I begin by understanding each student’s level, goals, interests, and challenges. Lessons may include real-world materials, guided conversation, targeted grammar and vocabulary practice, role-play, simulations, writing exercises, and structured test preparation. For TOEFL students, I address Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing while teaching strategies for organizing responses, managing time, and communicating clearly under pressure. I provide specific, actionable feedback and can explain difficult concepts in Portuguese when helpful. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students can make mistakes without embarrassment, build confidence, and use what they learn in academic, professional, and everyday situations.
