About Sree

Bio

Hi, I'm Sree! I'm a medical student in Boston, and I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience and Statistics at the University of Virginia. I scored a 1560 on the SAT and earned 5s on both the AP Biology and AP Chemistry exams, so I know these tests from the student's side of the desk.

I tutor SAT Math, biology, chemistry, statistics, and calculus at the high school, AP, and college level, along with high school and introductory college physics. For college students, I also help with biochemistry....

I tutor SAT Math, biology, chemistry, statistics, and calculus at the high school, AP, and college level, along with high school and introductory college physics. For college students, I also help with biochemistry. My statistics degree lets me teach both the math and the intuition behind it, and medical school keeps biology and biochemistry connected to how they're actually used.

Every session starts with where you're really stuck. We work problems together until you can explain the idea back to me, and for test prep we focus on question patterns, common traps, and timing. You'll leave each lesson with a clear next step.

I meet online or in person in Boston. Send me your class, your test date, and what feels hardest right now, and we'll get started.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

My B.S. from the University of Virginia is in Neuroscience and Statistics, so I'm comfortable with the quantitative reasoning Algebra 1 builds on. I focus on the fundamentals: variables, linear equations and inequalities, graphing lines, exponents, and systems. We slow down until each step makes sense, so the next topic doesn't feel like guesswork.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

My UVA degree in Neuroscience and Statistics means I'm comfortable with the functions, rational expressions, and logarithms that Algebra 2 is built on. I tutor by focusing on what each function family does: how to read its graph, solve its equations, and spot which form fits a word problem. Students leave able to explain their method, not just get the answer.
Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I completed a 4-year degree from a T30 institution in Neuroscience that involved Biology,Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, and Statistics. I also was an undergraduate research assistant for 4 years in a Molecular Biology wet-lab.

Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I earned a BS in Neuroscience and Statistics from the University of Virginia, with coursework in statistics and research methods. My training covers statistical inference, data analysis, and study design as they apply to biological and health research. I am currently a medical student. I can help students understand biostatistical concepts and apply them to biology and health problems.
Calculus

Calculus

I tutor AP and college calculus, including limits, derivatives, integrals, and their applications, with a focus on choosing the right method for each problem. My UVA degree in Neuroscience and Statistics included math coursework, which gives me a solid base in the functions and algebra calculus depends on. We practice worked problems together until students can explain why each step is valid, which is what exams ask for.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam, and as a medical student I see how chemistry underpins biochemistry and physiology. I teach chemistry through the problem-solving that exams demand: stoichiometry, equilibrium, acids and bases, and gas laws, with each step set up before any numbers go in. We focus on units, reasoning, and the concepts behind each formula so students can handle unfamiliar problems.
Chess

Chess

I've been playing Chess since I was 8 years old, and have reached an intermediate level (~1800). Throughout my time playing chess, I've taught many children in-person/online how to play as well as brought many students to an intermediate level. I've directed several tournaments and I'm happy to work with more students!
General Computer

General Computer

Well-informed in most general hardware and software applications. I can be most helpful in setting up new computers/other hardware, helping you make a decision on what to purchase, can teach you how to optimize your personal computer depending on your daily needs, and more. Please reach out to see if I can be of assistance!
Physics

Physics

I tutor high school and introductory college physics at the algebra-based level, including AP Physics 1 and 2 topics such as kinematics, Newton's laws, energy, circuits, and waves. My UVA training in neuroscience and statistics helps me connect physical models to measured data, which is how lab problems are actually solved. We work problems step by step, drawing force diagrams and checking units, until students can set up a new problem on their own.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

My UVA degree in Neuroscience and Statistics gives me a strong grounding in the number sense Prealgebra is designed to build. I work through fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, and basic equations with visual models and plenty of checking, so the rules make sense rather than feeling arbitrary. The goal is a solid base that makes Algebra 1 easier later.
Precalculus

Precalculus

My UVA degree in Neuroscience and Statistics included math coursework, and I use that background to teach precalculus as preparation for calculus. We cover functions and their graphs, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometry, with a focus on the reasoning behind each identity. The aim is for students to walk into calculus already fluent in the algebra and trig it depends on.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored 1560 on the SAT, so I know how the test is built and where students lose points. We work through the question patterns that repeat across the SAT Math section, from linear equations and systems to data, percents, and geometry, and I teach you to spot the common traps before you start calculating. We also drill pacing, so you practice finishing with time to check your work.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

I scored 1560 on the SAT, and I teach reading the way the test asks you to read: find the main idea, track the author's purpose, and note where each paragraph turns. We practice a repeatable passage strategy, previewing questions, marking claims as you go, and returning to the text to prove each answer. For evidence questions, I focus on the line that directly supports the correct choice and why the close distractors fall short.
Statistics

Statistics

My UVA degree in Neuroscience and Statistics gives me the statistical reasoning behind the formulas, not just the procedures. I tutor AP Statistics and intro college statistics, including sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, and linear regression. We practice interpreting results in context and writing conclusions that state what the data does and doesn't show.
