Getting into PA/Medical school can be hard, not because you don't have what it takes, but because the interview often has very little to do with your GPA or hours of patient care experience. It's about whether you can sit across from a committee and communicate who you are and how you think under pressure. That's rarely taught, and it's a completely different skill than anything else in the application.

I remember exactly what that felt like. I went through this process myself and have since built a career across oncology/hematology, internal and geriatric medicine, primary care, and PM&R. I hold active PA licenses in both California and Massachusetts. Along the way, I've sat across from patients and families during some of medicine's hardest conversations. What most committees are trying to identify in applicants is whether they can communicate clearly and connect with people when it matters.

Coaching applicants through this process is something I genuinely enjoy. I've coached applicants through mock interviews and watched them go on to get accepted, and that moment is exactly why I keep doing this. My coaching digs into your actual experiences, your shadowing, your patient care, the moments that made you want this, and shapes them into specific, honest stories instead of vague summaries that blend in with crowd. I'll ask the hard follow-ups a real interviewer would ask, the ones that catch people off guard.

I'll be honest in every session, specific about what's working and what isn't, not just encouraging. My goal is to help you talk about yourself with the same clarity and confidence you'll need on day one with patients. I'm also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, happy to practice in either if helpful.

If you're prepping for a PA or Medical school interview, let's get you ready, not just to answer questions, but to walk in feeling like you already belong there.

Interview Prep

I have coached PA school applicants through mock interviews, including both traditional one-on-one formats and Multiple Mini Interview styles, working through ethical scenarios, situational judgment questions, and personal/motivational questions. My expertise draws directly from my own clinical background as a practicing Physician Assistant, licensed in both California and Massachusetts, with experience across oncology/hematology, internal/geriatric medicine, and primary care. This clinical experience gives me a working knowledge of the qualities admissions committees are typically assessing, including clear communication under pressure, sound ethical reasoning, and the ability to connect with patients and colleagues in difficult situations. I tailor my approach to each applicant's specific background, shadowing experience, and the interview format used by their target program.

A Tutor Who Truly Invests in Your Success

I had great experience working with PA-C Aliena for my interview preparation. From the very beginning of the session, Aliena took the time to thoroughly get to know about my relevant experience and background. She patiently listened to my concerns and tailored the session around them, making the entire experience feel personalized and thoughtful. I never felt rushed and it was clear that she was fully committed to supporting my goals. She put together a mock interview that felt realistic which made it excellent practice for me. What I appreciated the most was her feedback. Aliena was honest and constructive, pointing out areas where I could improve while also highlighting my strengths in a way that felt encouraging and empowering. She has a great way of being both kind and honest, which helped me improve without ever feeling discouraged. By the end of the session, I walked away feeling more confident in my interviewing skills and much more prepared for my upcoming interviews. I truly appreciated her thoughtful guidance, encouragement, and ability to create a supportive environment where I could learn and improve. If you’re looking for someone who will challenge you, support you and genuinely invest in your success, I highly recommend Aliena Gomes! She’s truly the best.
