Hi! I'm Peter! I'm a current student at Bard Conservatory, earning bachelor's degrees in Music and Psychology. I have experience in the music world with multiple renowned youth orchestras and conservatories, as well as performance opportunities in Mexico and Europe. I’m also a high-achieving academic student, scoring a 1580 on the SAT and working as a research assistant in a psychology lab at Suffolk University.

I've been teaching for over eight years now. I started by tutoring my younger brother, then turned it into a bigger endeavor in high school, teaching local middle and high school students in subjects ranging from mathematics to music. After high school, I spent a year honing my craft, teaching music at a local weekend program aiding underserved communities, where I acted as the substitute for whichever class needed extra assistance.

While teaching, I’ve learned to hone my craft and teach my students at their own pace, while pushing them to advance comfortably without lagging. I believe that anyone is capable of understanding even the most complicated of topics, and I instill that understanding by breaking down difficult concepts into simpler ideas. I’ve put that into practice with my SAT tutoring, where I teach the different types of questions that the SAT will ask and how to recognize and approach them to get the best result every time. This is similar in music theory, where I teach the easier concepts and relate them to more difficult ideas that come later.

I aim to teach my students to solve their problems by thinking about how they can approach the issues piece by piece, recognizing patterns and understanding the simple topics. I find that this translates to a better comprehension of topics on a deeper level. I welcome any feedback and will respond quickly. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
