I'm Hezekiah! I graduated from Tufts with a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Brain Science and a Master's degree in Data Science. I then became a staff scientist at MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences where I completed PhD-level coursework as a graduate fellow. As a student, I found the classes I enjoyed most were the ones where professors were engaging, materials had a clear structure, and topics were clearly explained during office hours. When working with students, I do my best to bring these same qualities to the learning experience. I create lesson plans and sample problems in advance of each session. We then spend the duration of the session working through problems and asking lots of questions along the way. Each session typically ends with a brief review of what we covered and an opportunity to ask any lingering questions. I make an effort to make sessions fun and tailored to the individual student that I am assisting.

Over the past decade, I've worked with nearly 1000 students of all age groups in the areas of computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, and foreign language. I have taught K-12 in public schools as an education fellow, in graduate-level computer science programs as a guest lecturer, and across New England as an education startup founder. I've also worked in smaller 5-10 person groups and 1:1 settings for students that desire a more personalized learning experience. My goal is to provide a fun, growth-oriented approach to learning where outcomes are consistently met and curiosity is encouraged.
