Hi there! I have a degree in neuroscience, specializing in learning and memory, and I am currently in grad school. My background gives me a unique understanding of how students learn and retain knowledge. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all method for learning complex topics. I dedicate my initial time with students to discovering how they best process and retain information to tailor the student sessions.
Over the past few years, I have held a variety of teaching, tutoring, and mentorship roles that allow me to provide a robust and adaptable experience.
In undergrad, I was a teaching assistant for 2 academic courses in entry-level neuroscience and biostatistics, where I spent one-on-one time guiding college students through challenging subjects and concepts. In addition, I spent the last three years as an academic advisor for 10th - 12th graders.
In that time, I assisted students in college writing and SAT prep to prepare them for higher education.
I spent many moments in my free time researching effective study strategies such as active recall and spaced repetition, that I can implement in my one on on sessions with my students!
