As a lifelong learner in both the humanities and sciences, I bring a unique blend of analytical skills to my tutoring approach. I am currently a a graduate student at Northeastern University pursuing a Master's in Computer Science and previously obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chinese and Philosophy from Williams College. My multi-dimensional background allows me to approach education and tutoring holistically in a manner that prioritizes natural curiosity, critical thinking and structured progressions in learning.
I also understand what it takes to succeed in competitive academic environments and how to prepare students for those environments in high school. To that effect, I have tutored and mentored over 75 students with sustainable success in the SAT and the college essay writing process. My over three years of tutoring experience have shaped my belief in getting to understand the needs of each unique student. I do my utmost to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. I am particularly passionate about using vivid illustrations and simple analogies to help students navigate complex concepts and develop critical thinking skills.
Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring outdoor sports, learning languages and musical instruments, all of which also demand a rigorous structured approach to improvement while also blending in joy and curiosity which enriches my teaching style and connects me with students on a personal level.
