Hi! My name is Jana, and I am a senior Biology major at Northeastern University with a minor in Business Administration. I am on the pre-dental track and have been accepted to Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, and NYU College of Dentistry. I scored a 25 (or 510 with the new scoring) on the Dental Admission Test, placing me in the 97th–98th percentile nationally. My academic background, combined with years of coursework in biology and chemistry, has given me a strong foundation to support students at both the college and pre-professional levels.
I have experience teaching and tutoring students in a variety of settings, including one-on-one academic support and volunteer science education with younger students. I have worked with students ranging from elementary school through college, adapting my approach based on learning style and background. My tutoring style focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps, reinforcing understanding through practice problems, and building confidence. For exam-focused tutoring such as the DAT, I emphasize strategy, pattern recognition, and high-yield content while also helping students develop efficient study plans.
I tutor DAT subjects as well as biology, chemistry, and related science coursework. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I am happy to tailor each session to a student’s specific needs, whether that involves content review, test-taking strategies, or long-term academic planning. I look forward to helping students reach their academic goals and would be happy to answer any questions before scheduling a lesson.
