I have been a peer tutor since September 2025. Throughout these past few months, I have been helping college students understand and apply the content that they are learning in their general chemistry and physics classes. I recognized that some students needed more help than others, so my sessions would be anything from reteaching the material with some lecture-based content and practice problems, to helping students solve their homework problems and discussing quiz/exam strategies.
I believe that every student, no matter how confident or not confident they are in the material that they're learning, could benefit from a tutor. Working with someone else allows you to ensure that you know enough about a subject to explain it back to them. It is so rewarding to see a student gain confidence in their classes and improve their grades because it shows how much effort they are willing to put in, in order to succeed.
