Bio

Hi there! I’m a math and logic tutor who loves helping students see that math isn’t just about getting answers, it’s about learning to think clearly. I came to the United States when I was 13 and entered Brooklyn Technical High School only seven months later. Back then I couldn’t always understand every word on a test, but I could see the patterns behind the problems. That early experience taught me that math is its own language, and that logic can be a bridge for anyone willing to learn...

That early experience taught me that math is its own language, and that logic can be a bridge for anyone willing to learn it.

I studied Computer Science at Boston College, where I strengthened my skills in algebra, geometry, calculus, and data systems. After graduation I worked at the MIT Media Lab, where I explored how technology and learning connect. Those experiences shaped the way I teach today. I’ve spent the past few years tutoring students for the ISEE and SSAT, as well as general middle school math. My approach focuses on helping students build structure and confidence. I use a method I designed myself, based on labeling relationships and finding logic behind every problem. I even created a 22-page ISEE Math Logic Map to guide my students step by step.

I’ve worked with students aged 10 to 15 in one-on-one and small group settings. I love watching them go from anxious or unsure to proud and curious. I believe every student can succeed when they understand why something works, not just how. My goal is to help them think like mathematicians, communicate with clarity, and trust their own minds:)

ISEE

I help students master ISEE Math by teaching them how to think like mathematicians, not just follow steps. My approach is rooted in the traditional Chinese math system, which is known for its depth, precision, and logical rigor. Before coming to the U.S., I earned awards in national Math Olympiad competitions such as the Yumiaobei, and later became an AMC semifinalist in high school. I studied Computer Science at Boston College and conducted research at the MIT Media Lab, where I explored how people learn through structure and pattern. Using my 22-page ISEE Math Logic Map, I guide students to label relationships, recognize patterns, and connect concepts so they can solve problems quickly and with real understanding. My students build both confidence and lasting clarity in the way they think about math.
