Hi there! My name is Luis, and I’m a registered nurse, as well as a certified BLS instructor. I recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. My long-term goal is to become a nurse practitioner, specializing in adult-gerontology or family practice.

I’ve been teaching and mentoring nursing students for the past year, working with learners aged 18 to 35. My experience includes one-on-one tutoring sessions, small group review classes, and volunteer teaching at UVM. I focus on helping students strengthen their clinical reasoning, master nursing fundamentals, and prepare for the NCLEX exam.

I’m passionate about helping future nurses succeed in their classes and careers. Whether you need support with test preparation, homework, or NCLEX review, I’m here to assist! I passed the NCLEX on my first attempt right after graduation, and I’d love to share my tips and strategies to help you feel confident and prepared.

I’m dedicated to the nursing profession and committed to helping students feel comfortable as they transition into their first nursing roles. Confidence begins with understanding what we learn in school, and I enjoy helping others strengthen that foundation.

I offer personalized support in: - Building strong, competitive resumes tailored for nursing roles - Conducting effective cover letter workshops to help you stand out to employers - Navigating next-generation NCLEX item types and test strategies - Reviewing the nursing license application process in detail - Clarifying the differences between single-state, multistate, and provisional licenses—and what each means for beginning your practice - Walking through the Individual Decision Tree to support professional judgment and ethical decision-making - Exploring nursing organizations and networking

Awesome tutor!

I’ve been struggling with understanding hepatorenal syndrome for a while and he explained it to me in a way I was actually able to understand. Luis was patient with my questions and really nice about it. Would definitely recommend!!

Knowledgeable and fun tutor

Luis helped me so much with my biology class!! I really struggle with science in general, and Luis was patient and understanding of that fact. He was open to answering my silly questions and made sure to go at a pace that worked for me. I left the lesson feeling like I had learned so much. I would recommend Luis as a tutor to anyone and everyone!
