Throughout high school, I took many challenging classes and performed well, maintaining a 3.8 unweighted GPA. I have taken several AP classes including US History, Spanish Literature, Art History, Art & Design, and Calculus AB. I especially enjoy art, art history, Spanish, and English literature. I have experience tutoring ESL through the online platform ENGin. From July 2022 until this past June, I met weekly with high school age Ukrainian students to help them learn and practice English. These students already had a foundation in English, so my job was to help them expand their vocabulary, improve their conversational confidence, and gain exposure to natural language use. Obviously the language barrier was difficult at first, but over time, I learned what they knew and what speed they were comfortable with. That experience taught me a lot about foreign culture and put in perspective what is important to us in America that is not universal.
