Pre-dental student ready to help!

My educational background is a bachelor’s degree at California State University of Fullerton. Though the certification for teaching students is not there, I have always found myself wanting to teach people every opportunity I could find. I ended up working at Kumon, a tutoring center, for approximately 2 years teaching 5- to 18-year-olds from counting numbers all the way to teaching Calculus. Furthermore, I am currently a student at Boston University in graduate medical science. I am currently going there for my masters in Oral health science which will help me get into future dental schools.
I believe in understanding the concept and mastering it. The main teaching approach done by Kumon is understanding and mastering the content. Kumon detected accuracy and speed, which is critical to understanding whether the student should move forward to more difficult subjects. For example, we are not going to teach double digit multiplication to a student that gets 100% of the questions right but takes 5 minutes to answer 20 single digit multiplication questions.
My main teaching style will be to attempt some practice problems whether it be Algebra, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, or general chemistry and see where we need to fine tune the line of thinking. When I was taught in a classroom, I felt embarrassed asking questions, so I understood that feeling. I am a student and now proudly raise my hand and ask my questions and want the incoming students to come prepared with questions so I can answer them appropriately and help them succeed in their classes.
