Hello, I’m Matthew! I earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a Mathematics minor from Georgia Tech. Alongside my studies, I’ve gained years of tutoring experience and professional engineering work that allow me to connect with learners at every level.

By background, I am an engineer; by heart, I am a teacher. I served as a Head Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech, guiding teams of 5-7 ambitious students in prototyping biomedical devices. I also tutored K-12 and college students in math and physics, redefining their study skills. I’ve taught engineering tools such as MATLAB and CAD as a Certified SolidWorks Associate. As a certified math instructor, I worked with students from elementary through high school, strengthening their foundation in algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus - proficient in math through the collegiate level.

I specialize in making difficult subjects approachable. My tutoring style is boldly user-focused. I adapt to each student’s background, goals, and learning style, creating a true learning partnership. Whether preparing for the ACT, tackling physics problems, learning SolidWorks, or improving study strategies, I break concepts into clear, manageable steps without skipping the details. Sessions are always goal-oriented and encourage active practice, instilling the confidence to pursue the solutions by oneself.

My goal is simple: help every student gain both knowledge and confidence. I bring my education, teaching experience, and resources into each session so learning is productive, interactive, and enjoyable. If students leave not only mastering the subject but also motivated to keep growing and teach others, then I’ve succeeded as a tutor. I am always growing, here to perform my act of service. I am approachable and easy to reach with quick responses. Feel free to contact me with questions or to schedule a lesson!

Helped Me Understand a Very Complex Subject

I struggle with the steps, and Matthew made it so much easier for me to understand. I have tried a couple of different tutors on this site, and Matthew was by far the best. Will be using him for the rest of the semester. He is very good at what he does, and I am lucky to have found him.
