Hello!
My passion for teaching and tutoring began in college, where I first served as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant. I led both large review sessions and small workshops, and tutored individual students one-on-one. That experience opened my eyes to how differently students absorb the same concepts—and how effective teaching requires flexibility and creativity. I found joy in getting to know each student as a unique learner and adjusting my explanations to suit their thinking style until the material truly “clicked.” Over the years, I’ve tutored countless high school and college students in chemistry and biology, and I continue to find deep satisfaction in helping students build confidence in topics they once found overwhelming.
My tutoring approach centers on breaking down complex ideas into manageable parts and helping students link them into larger, intuitive frameworks. I combine patience with just the right amount of challenge to encourage students to develop problem-solving skills and think critically on their feet. I believe understanding—not just memorization—is the key to long-term success in science.
I hold a master's degree in education from Teachers College, Columbia University, where I studied research-based teaching methods and age-appropriate learning strategies. I also earned my dental degree from Columbia and am currently pursuing an MD at Harvard Medical School, training to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. These experiences give me a strong foundation in the sciences and a deep appreciation for the impact of effective teaching.
