Hello! I'm Shoshanah, a passionate and flexible cello teacher with a patient, supportive approach. I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels, from young beginners to advanced players, and tailor my teaching to fit each individual’s goals and learning style.
I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cello Performance with a minor in Teaching Artistry at the New England Conservatory. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. I’ve been teaching private lessons since 2018 and have worked in a variety of settings, including public schools, community programs, and conservatory preparatory divisions. My current teaching includes work at a public high school, community center, and as a teaching artist with the Boston Chamber Music Society. I also previously coached chamber music and coordinated rehearsals at the Cleveland Institute of Music Academy.
My teaching style combines strong technical foundations with musical creativity. I aim to build confident, curious musicians through lessons that are both structured and engaging. I’m happy to incorporate a mix of classical repertoire, ear training, and student-selected music to keep lessons inspiring and relevant.
As an active performer, I’ve had the opportunity to play with the LA Film Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl with Imagine Dragons, record at Warner Brothers Studios, and perform in the Cleveland Browns Halftime Show with OPUS 216. I’ve also performed for Chicago’s Art on the Mart and regularly work as a session and event cellist.
My goal is to support and encourage each student’s growth while helping them find joy in music-making. I look forward to working with you!
