Hi, I'm Adina! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, concentrating in Neurobiology and Behavior, from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. Along with my major, I completed a minor in History and received distinction in research, which allowed me to develop a strong foundation in both scientific inquiry and critical thinking. These experiences have shaped my approach to learning and teaching, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge and the ability to approach problems from multiple angles.
During my time at Cornell, I had the privilege of serving as a general chemistry Teaching Assistant for three years. This experience was incredibly rewarding, as it allowed me to guide students through complex concepts and problem-solving strategies. There’s nothing quite like the moment when a student finally grasps a difficult concept and the joy that comes with that breakthrough. I found these moments to be both inspiring and fulfilling, and they solidified my passion for teaching.
Currently, I’m a medical student, which has given me an even deeper understanding of the challenges that students face in rigorous academic environments. Having gone through the demanding coursework in both high school and college science classes, I am well-equipped to relate to the struggles students may encounter and help them navigate those hurdles. As someone who thrives on using multiple learning modalities, from visual aids to interactive discussions, I can tailor my tutoring style to best support each student’s strengths and areas of growth.
Whether it’s breaking down complex concepts, providing guidance through problem sets, or offering strategies to build study habits, my goal as a tutor is to empower students to not only understand the material but also develop a lasting love for learning.
