Bio

I help students tackle the analytical side of school and admissions — standardized tests, college-level math, and computer science — and I've built a 5.0 rating across 170+ hours doing it.

On the test-prep side, I coach the full SSAT / PSAT / SAT / ACT lineup, both the math and the reading/writing sections, focusing as much on strategy and timing as on content. On the academic side, I cover everything from prealgebra through calculus, statistics, and linear algebra, plus computer science —...

On the academic side, I cover everything from prealgebra through calculus, statistics, and linear algebra, plus computer science — algorithms, web development, and languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript.

I'm a USC graduate in pure mathematics, and I've taught in just about every setting: as an instructor for a computer-science education company, as a classroom math and CS teacher, and as a volunteer teaching programming to elementary students. Working with everyone from young kids to adult professionals has made me adaptable — I meet each student where they are and adjust the pace and approach to fit.

I also hold a TESOL certificate and have taught English to non-native speakers, and I speak French, Spanish, and Greek.

Wonderful tutor!

John was the tutor my son needed for the PSAT 8/9 prep. He was able to engage a kid with zero interest in spending his summer preparing for the PSAT exam. John is incredibly patient, encouraging, and dedicated. After a few weeks of lessons, our son started to enjoy his classes and feel encouraged with his steady improvement. Because of John, our son had such confidence heading into the exam. I cannot recommend John highly enough!!
