Hi, I'm Will! I recently graduated from Stanford University with honors in the Program in Human Biology. Throughout my time at Stanford, on top of a 25+ hour/week training regimen for varsity swimming, I developed my education with the deliberate intention of forging an eventual career path that intersects various disciplines in the health sector. This led me to accept a position in a neurology lab at Stanford’s School of Medicine, shadow multiple physicians at Stanford Hospital, and eventually take the MCAT, for which I scored in the 98th percentile.
For MCAT tutoring, my previous teaching experience includes three TA positions at Stanford University over a broad range of topics. My first position was helping freshmen athletes adjust to the academic and athletic rigors of Stanford University. The next was a teaching assistant position for a cross functional biostatistics course involving coding, epidemiology, and statistical analyses. The last position I held was for a bioethics course exploring the ethical dilemmas surrounding brain death. I understand what it feels like to struggle through material, so when I teach or tutor, I do my best to teleport back to before I became an "expert" in the subject area, which I find to be the hallmark of a great teacher.
For teaching swim lessons, I was a competitive swimmer for 17 years, held multiple Kentucky state records, and went on to swim for the varsity team at Stanford. I could teach any level of swimming, and most recently have experience helping special needs children (ages 6-10) learn the basics of swimming.
I am available for either MCAT tutoring or swim lessons in the evenings and on the weekends, and am very easy to reach. Looking forward to connecting with you!
